About This Product
This E309L-16 stainless steel electrode is a go-to choice if you're welding stainless to mild steel or low alloy steel.
It's got a rutile-basic coating that gives you smooth operation, easy slag removal, and very little spatter – which means less cleanup after your welds.

It works in any position except vertical down, and it runs on both AC and DC+ (reverse polarity), so it's pretty flexible for different welding rigs.

The electrode size is 1/8 inch, and you get a 1/2 pound pack with 14 rods.

It's specifically designed for joining dissimilar metals like austenite-ferrite joints, cladding, or laying down corrosion-resistant buffer layers on construction steels.

The chemical composition is spot on for corrosion resistance, and the mechanical properties show solid tensile strength – typically around 595 N/mm² with 40% elongation, which is more than the minimum requirements.

Just keep in mind the maximum operating temperature is 300°C, so it's not for high-heat applications beyond that.

Every package comes with a material certification too, so you know you're getting the real deal.

Great for repairs, fabrications, and any job where you're mixing steel types.
