It's ceiling-mounted with a 360-degree detection range covering up to 1600 square feet, so it catches motion from every direction.

You can set it to auto-on/auto-off mode, and it's got adjustable time delay (from 15 seconds up to 30 minutes), sensitivity (high/low), and a light sensor that can be set to kick in only when it's dark enough (off, 15, 25, or 35 lux).
