This 5/8-11 UNC round threading die is a solid workhorse for cleaning up or cutting new threads.
It’s got a 1.
5-inch diameter and 14mm thickness, made from 9SiCr alloy tool steel – so it’s hard, tough, and holds up to repeated use without losing its edge.
Use it on stainless steel, aluminum, copper, iron, plastic – pretty much any material you’re working with.
Great for re-threading existing bolts that are gunked up or damaged, and also works for creating fresh threads on softer materials.
Pro tip: add cutting oil when tapping, and reverse the die every quarter to half turn to clear chips.
